A global dietary shift to plant-based proteins has begun. Research indicates that consumers perceive plant-based options to be a healthy inclusion to their diet, and better for the planet. In fact, 70% of consumers state that they actively seek products with good sources of plant protein, and 67% of consumers say they are willing to spend more for products made with plant-based ingredients1. To meet these shifting preferences, brands are tapping into the trend by using ingredients such as pea proteins, lentils, beans and other plant proteins, or combinations to create convenient food, drink and snack options.
